What is the Americans With Disabilities Act?

What is the Americans With Disabilities Act?

In July 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed the ADA, or Americans with Disabilities Act, into law. The law was designed to prohibit discrimination in employment, services, state programs, government programs, housing, etc. It aims to create equal opportunities for people with disabilities. As a business owner, this means you must make sure your services are accessible to everyone and are required to make changes to your property to be ADA compliant. This could mean lowering your service counter, providing accessible parking, installing an access ramp and more.
