As of 22 May 2016, Ordinance No.51-16 requires that in the San Francisco area, all primary entrances and paths of travel to non-exempt public accommodations must be assessed using the Category Checklist Compliance Form as part of the Mandatory Disability Access Improvement Program. The assessment should be carried out by a California state licensed architect or CASp (Certified Access Specialist). If there are multiple businesses within one building, a separate assessment form is required for each separate public entrance. If parking is provided for customers, the path of travel from the parking to the primary entrance must also be in compliance.
The completed document will include a full assessment of any deficiencies as per the California Building Code. There should also be a proposed Barrier Remediation proposal submitted to resolve any identified problems discovered during the assessment process.
Protrk Construction can carry out the necessary assessments for you and submit the relevant barrier removal plans, then complete the work associated with becoming compliant.
